Visit with the Great Grandma and Big Daddy

We had a wonderful day yesterday playing with Great Grandma and Great Big Daddy who were in town. And they'll be passing by again in another week or so. We can't wait!

NY Trip - Day 3 - Home

Goodbye Wellsville!

I wish I had more pictures of the town. Real pretty setting and some neat buildings, especially a gothic style catholic church up on a hill.

Here, right across from our hotel, is factory for making subway cars.

On the hotel site, our very own Dunkin Donuts...

Chris had to get his coffee and I had to get my cream donuts!
After being roused at 4am by you know who it was a nice treat. We had to wait until they opened at 6am though.

My little alarm clock.

One more donut...please?

And after saying goodbye to those that were up (and those that we woke up) we were off. Devin fell right asleep for his morning nap.

We stopped for a scenic view/dog walk off Route 15 overlooking Montgomery, PA

No vomit from Blue this time, thankfully.

And Wendy just trying to stay cool and out of the sun.

Really a good trip for Devin. Bearable for Chris (retracing our steps on Route 15 didn't help much. South is north, up is down... "Well that's just maddeningly unhelpful! Why are these things never clear?") And, of course, I had fun. Devin went to bed early tonight. No crying, just lots of babbling, slapping the crib, and cruising before crashing.

Congrats again to Ricky and Susie!

Happy Father's Day

To the great men in our lives!

NY Trip - Day 2 - Part 3

The Reception!

Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Ives

Aunt Ruth with sweet Ashleigh

Colin with something else sweet...

Eric with more of the same in his glass...

Aunt MaryLeigh and Rottie with Ashleigh

(I'm still impressed how she slept through so much activity)

Pretty dress and hairdo

Dustin - king of the mound

Devin's first experience with bubbles.

And Pennie actually got to hold her own daughter.

A new cousin picture - unfortunately we are missing the new groom, but at least we managed to get the original seven of us together before Sara and Laura had to head home!

It took about an hour again for Devin to 'settle' after such a busy and fun day. Less screaming this time which was nice. I still had to give him my finger to suck on and then phew out like a light. Enough posting...I better get some sleep while I have the chance!

NY - Day 2 - Part 1

Day 2 started early - at about 3:40. Devin awoke and realized he didn't quite remember how he got to this strange hotel room and crib. So after some nursing we slept all the way in until 4:30. Wheee! We managed to get breakfast, walk the dogs and then begin the fight for the morning nap at 7am. Almost an hour later (after a bath and many tears), the little man is peacefully asleep.

Now Chris and I (and the dogs) have to sit here in the room, in the dark, while he sleeps. Well, Chris is already asleep...ha! As are the dogs. I guess it's just me here. Thankfully the MacBookPro has a lighted, quiet keyboard.

Who does Devin love?

Note that he has taken to scrunching up his nose with his smiles.

---------
Ah, thankfully Devin napped for 2.5 hours. Rested and ready to go we had lunch at Texas Hot with some of the cousins. On our way back to the car, we passed a coffee shop that had Guitar Expo. You needn't ask if we stopped. The place was awesome. Chris got to try some fantastic classic bases and there was a neat piano from 1936.

Chris really loved this '63 J-Bass!

This vintage G&L bass wasn't bad either.

The piano and just a few of the classic guitars...

NY trip - Day 1

Well we are here in the hotel the day before my cousin's wedding in the middle of NY state. Devin did pretty good on the car ride. It was Blue who chucked his cookies only an hour into the trip. Luckily there was a laundromat right around the corner from the hotel so the pups actually have a clean bed to sleep on....ughh...

We ran into Pennie and Colin, Ralph and Sandy, Jackie, and Aunt MaryLeigh when we got back from doing laundry. The 'baby' cousins keeping getting bigger and multiplying - now Pennie has little Ashleigh! Hope to get some family photos tomorrow. And see the rest of the clan.

At the moment Devin is exploring the apparently fun crib that the hotel provided. So far it's been 30 minutes of squeals and giggles. I guess it could certainly be worse. Time to shut off the computer though and put him back down.

When a quiet dinner turns bad

Devin was eating his dinner peacefully while Chris was grilling on the deck. Then, the dogs noticed an intruder...

Left handed pitcher?

Soon pitching for the Yankees?

Oh his Dad has high hopes now... Devin favors his left hand and is starting to get a good arm on him.

He crawls...

After doing 'belly-scooting' for a while now, Devin has started using his hands and knees. As you can see from the video - he's still getting the hang of it. He's already much better today then he was Monday when we took the video.

Lil Toof

Our fist glimpse of a tooth! One of the middle bottom teeth has just poked through this morning. And ironically just after our well baby visit to the doctor on Monday when we discussed that he may not get any until after a year. (As a breastfeeding mom, I was celebrating the news...guess I got a little too excited). Maybe this also means that his waking up at 5:30, 5, and now 4:30 in the morning might subside?? I'll see if I can get a picture of it later today.

Update: It took a couple days, but here's the best view of the tooth yet. And it looks like it will have a next door neighbor very shortly.

Other status from the visit:
Height: 29.75 inches
Weight: 22.4 pounds
So Devin is still around 90% on those charts that the docs like to use. He's growing, he's happy, sounds good to me! Well, except for growing up so fast...9 months already?!?!
