Happy Love Day!

As it was called on Blue's Clues. I can't believe I actually watched that show with Devin today.

We had the quietest, least 'cuddly' Valentine's Day ever (not counting the ones pre Cate+Chris). Yet, still one of the most special. It started out bad and with me being grumpy after a bad experience with our floor installation (still dealing with it as a matter of fact) and Chris being sick. With us both being upset and Chris keeping his sickness at a distance, I found little to look forward to.

Just the same, I end the day feeling so blessed, happy, and loved. So we didn't kiss or even cuddle on the couch.

We got to a least share our favorite meal. Fondue! Glorious cheese and then chocolate fondue. We got to share the day with our son who can make us laugh even at our worst moments. We got to reminisce about our childhoods, dating stories, and our recent history with each other, while finding out new things we hadn't mentioned in the past. We got to look forward to the birth of another child and wonder what stories we'll have next year. (Okay we also worried about when the kids will be old enough to have their own dating stories - especially our daughter. Yikes!) I guess we are getting old as the Valentine's Day hype is much less important than just being able to enjoy a quiet evening to count our blessings. I think I'm ok with that.

Mom and I were just thinking about you guys and the fondue. Jim Thorpe is a beautiful little bourough with old town feel. Mom and I had a great time. Planning on driving home today. See you soon.
